4. Pattern Making
This subject covers the fundamentals of pattern making, including drafting a shoulder dart bodice sloper, a straight sleeve sloper, and a straight skirt sloper. Students will learn about dart manipulation, sleeve variations, skirt variations & collar drafting. By studying these topics, students will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to create well-fitting and professionally tailored garments.
5. Garment Construction
This subject provides an introduction to sewing machines and covers various machine practice exercises. It teaches how to create different types of seams and seam finishes, neckline facings, plackets, collars, cuffs, yoke attachment, sleeves & pockets. By studying these topics, students will gain the necessary skills to sew and finish different parts of a garment.
6. Computer Aided Fashion Design
This subject focuses on using Photoshop for fashion design. It covers the basics of Photoshop, creating mood boards, working with sketches, layouts, and rendering techniques such as wool, denim, leather, and camouflage. By learning these skills, students will be able to create professional-looking fashion designs and presentations using the power of digital tools.
7. Boutique Management
This subject covers various aspects of managing a boutique business, such as business planning, location selection, buying and merchandising, sales and marketing, customer service, staff and financial management, business operations, visual merchandising, and e-commerce. It focuses on developing essential skills required for running a successful boutique, including market research, inventory management, staff training, and customer relations.
